My turn
Gday,
here is my take on Skiing Vs Snowboarding...i feel i might as well give it ago as every one else is. After i have made the 20hr flight to LA from australia and then made my connecting flights and gotten a cab up to tahoe..or where ever... i can see the mountains lit by the moonlight...after 2days in transit i have made it.....i pass out on my bed from the jet lag and exaustion.. i wake at five am after yet another amazing skiing dream...it turns out a weather change moved in and dumped 2ft of pow for me. when i leave my hotel i see people wanting pow, wanting to be up there, i dont see skiiers and boarders...i am there for the pow, for the park, i am there for my self to feed my pashion, my desire, my need, to ski, to slide. in the end its what you get out of it. and if u r so absorbed in our differences you cant see why we r ther. the only thing that matters is following your heart. these are the best days of our lives.

Any way its not the plank its the personality...deal with it dont bring the sport into it.

Last Day at Loon
Today Pat Melvin and myself went to loon Mtn. New Hampshire. loon has a reputaion with good parks and pipes so we knew what to expect. It was a great day blue skies sixty degrees but no camera. Mine was broken and pat couldn't bring his. As it turns out there is no park but thre is a pipe. The pipe had no vert at all making it almost impossible to launch out. We didnt go home and cry like snowboarders we said hey lets do this. We built a nice booter on the backside of the pipe so you could clear the deck and land back in the "tranny". The left side wall was three times higher and longer than the right. The right side also didnt have any wall to it was just snow that was piled up. We decided to drop in on the right and hit left. There were to spots that were actually going to be nice with a little work. Sweating in the hot sun we worked on the pipe walls. We ended up with a nice transition that would launch you out and another wall on the left side that was perfect for setting alley-oop spins. Our run now was like this: Hit the booter and drop in the pipe get to the top of the right wall and then drop into our first good wall land and then get out. and stop on top of the deck. Drop in again and hit our spinning wall. We hiked for a while and met a guy with tenghties who was 32 years of age and we taugh him to spin in the pipe. It was so classic. No camera no boarders no ski school just your freinds the sun and a "homade" pipe. As the right wall started to soften up we built two more hits on that side so you could have a nice pipe session with 4 hits and a booter to start you off. Pat was spinning fives out and i was launching mutes. We threw alleyoop mutes and alley tails launched stalled japans and did a few nut grabs for some laughs. It was great time. like i siad classic, no camera no boarders no ski school just your freinds the sun and a "homade" pipe.

Snowboaders Suck
This is my opinion of why snowboarders Suck.
One day I was at Sunshine village on a day when they had just gotten almost a foot of snow over night. I was just about to take this steep and deep line when this snowboarder cuts in front of me and side slips down the whole line. That fucker ruined all the good snow. That is why I hate all snowboarders. They are pussys!!!

winter park
last weekend, i took a trip to winter park and checked out their terain park. In the halfpipe, i wanted to start small so i went for a ironcross.i leaned to the side too far caught an edge on the lip, flew forward into the middle of the pipe and landed on my back.

snowboarding vs. skiing
first, i am not a snowboarder. second, i have noticed that both skiers and boarders(not everyone)express bad ideas about eachother. i have friends that ski and some friends that ride. i think that in the future we may be able to get along with eachother. people that hate skiers will not help this happen. if every one tried to get along with eachother, resorts would function better.

Snowboarders Ain't so Bad
A few words about boarders. Although they are rude, crude and generally have no talent, if it wasn't for snowboarding, there would be no pipes, parks, rails or other great stuff. The ski manufacturers were making straight skiis until they started copying the sidecut on snowboards. Patrollers were pulling tickets of skiers that made a little kicker somewhere. So let's give a little credit to the knuckle draggers. If they would only show some class!

my take on Snowboardin/skiin
hey, lately iv been reading all this stuff on bashing boarders. Im a skier and i have alot of boarding friends. I know that there is a few ass hole boarders out there that say skiers are gay and skiings for fags but if u ever watch those guys board u will see that they actualy suck, alot, those are the guys that only board because its cool and all their friends do it. and for everyone out there that thinks snowboarding is better, take a look at snowboard free style then skiing freestyle, skiings way harder and we have about a million more tricks than boards and skiings alot more original, its soo easy to go with fads and to be the "cool" guy, but if u stick with somthing you love lets say...SKIING and you get good at it u will be the cool guy that can do somthing not many people can do.
Skiings comming back now lets help it get here!

OH yea and wen was the last time u've seen a boarder do a 5 meter drop?? thats right skiers rule!

Why i wear a helmet and my ...
Im new to the world of freestyle skiing. I have to admit it is quite addicting though. The only thing that sucks is I'm from PA which requires me to drive a good 5 hours to find a nice park in NY or VT. Parks are almost non-existant in PA, and if they are there they look like they've been built by a 12 year old who screwed up his snow fort. OK on to the story. It was at Killington, VT 2 years ago. I wasn't the most experience freestyle skier at that time. I was in the the largest of the parks there and it was somewhat crowded. I was setting up above a nice sized kicker attemping to perfect a good tail grab (like I said I'm a bit inexperienced). I waited for the area to clear and i launched. As I hit the peak of my air i spot out of the corner of my eye a snowboarder cutting across the landing. I threw myself offbalance to try to avoid him. My ski ended up clipping his shoulder a bit and i smacked the snow with my face. It took me a little to gather my thoughts and then I got a little pissed that the guy cut me off. The little asshole (looked like he was about 12 or 13) just boarded off. Then i realized that there was blood dripping from my face. I cut nose pretty bad and got ice burns on the side of my face. My head hurt for a few days. That is why i have a small grudge against snowboarders, especially little posers that shouldn't be in an area for the experienced.

My 2 cents against borders
This is my whole thing against borders right here. 90 percent of the people i know who snowboard suck, and are posers. I also noticed all the people that suck are always the haters. I think skiing does take more talent and guts then snowboarding, but i do give some respect to the snowboarders who are good and dont hate on skiers. But that number is virtually 0. I think snowboarders need to shut their mouths and not talk crap to skiers. The only reason people do it is because its popular, and thats mainly why i dont do it, plus skiing has more style. In the last year i have got 2 people to make the switch from one board to two boards, and one person from skiboards to twin-tips. Most people talk crap to me, but most of them stop once i go through the park once. I think snowboarders need to realize this is our time to shine and snowboarding is dying out, and freeride skiing is takin over, in the park, in the pipe, on the mountain and on downtown rails. Thats what I think ne ways.

Power to the twin-tips
Alex
