I'm not Canadian, but I'll weigh in here anyway...some would say that's a pretty typical thing for an American to do...as we always stick our noses where we're not invited and make every debate our own ;-)

 

- I would view Canada much that same as the U.S. as far as they are both 'melting pots' where many cultures and nationalities have come to live together.  My answer to the separatists would be...you and/or your people came to Canada - please become a part of it as it exists.  If you don't Canada, I'm sure France would welcome you with open arms!  If you want a culture that is more centered on French standards, language and culture...France is a good place to be.
