So who is it gonna be? Is Dick Cheney allowed to run? because if he is thats just terrifying, I mean the guy is already practically dead. How about Jeb Bush? I've heard a few things about him running to take his bro's place (we already know he has practise fixing elections, Florida in 200) So what do you guys think is gonna go down?

Wow, Do you ever talk about Canadian politics? Why are you more interested in my country than your own?

with approval ratings where they are at, I'm guessing its going to be a democratic president not a republican, though I have heard rumor that there is going to be a bi partisan candidate (democrat president, republican vice pres.) also hilary Clinton is definately going to be in the running.

Vailposseone: No, we dont ever talk about Canadian politics, we just ride dogsleds from igloo to igloo and wear fur hats. And one of the first topics in this politics forum that wasn't by me wasn't about Canadian politics now was it. Theres only three topics in this forum, try reading them before you make assumptions that we're more interested in the USA than our own country.

You wrote: "No, we dont ever talk about Canadian politics, we just ride dogsleds from igloo to igloo and wear fur hats." I know you dont ever talk about Canadian politics. Thats my point. As for the fur hats and igloos... I have no problem. As you can see from my picture, Im a golden retriever. I like dogs and sleds, so dogsleds sound double good to me.

personally i think jeb bush would be a good president, judging from approval raitings in the south. but we all know that will never happen after G.W., as for hillary, i don't think she would be any good, her tactics seem to steriotypical - politition... a bi - partison running would be in that groups favor for sure. i also hear rumor of obama running, he would be a good democratic candidate, but i doubt they pick him over hillary

o, and vailposseone you are a disgrace to the concervative parties of the globe, all the coments that you took for real were in sarcasm, canadians don't ride dog sleds or wear fur hats, and yes they talk about our economy because it effects them tremendously (i did some research kootenale)... i agree with conservatism, but don't be a dumbass

Thenemy makes a good point, once again. We're in here, both libs and cons, to discuss our views and see if we can't educate each other. I mean so our views are different, who really cares anyways. It makes for great conversation on the chairlift (I know I've engaged in chairlift political chat with randoms from around the world that I meet). As for vailposseone...LOL! I knew you'd have trouble picking up the sarcasm so I tried very hard to make it clear, but apparently you didnt get it. I was trying to say that my first topic WAS about Canadian politics, nothing else. And for a 31 year old to excuse his idiocy by saying he is a golden retriever is just weak.

ahhh this is great, so back on topic, who is the obama fellow? I can't say I've heard about him. as for hilary clinton I don't know if I'd vote for her, I would vote for her over Jeb Bush, Hilary seems to blame too many things on video games. I would vote for bill clinton again if he could run, he seemed perfectly capable with interacting with the middle east for the most part, all while letting the US have a roaring economy. I think it'd be nice to see someone with some backbone and common sense run, McCain seemed pretty smart, though I was afraid he might push the button on someone, but apparently even idjits can declare war. anyone remember Ross Perot? now there was a guy with balls. hahaha

McCain / Romney in '08 McCain (R Sen. Arizona) Romney (R Gov. Mass) Although McCain might not get support by the ultra-conservatives in the primaries. I think they'd make a great ticket.

except that Romney would be the downfall of america if he followed bush. you have to have some moderation, no country can really withstand two presidents with as extreme of views as bush and romney have in a row. I know I for one would leave the US. The gov't has no right to tell anyone how to live their lives if they are consenting adults, and it doesn't hurt anyone. also Romney I feel would make the gov't even bigger than it already is (which is completely against the republican Ideals) thanks to bush I can already have my personal life monitored and it probably is since I don't support him.

I think a bi-partisan P/VP would be cool, but it won't happen because of political pressures, they would have to run on an independant ticket. But, personally, I think Hillary might make a decent pres, but not yet, plain and simple. Firthermore, I think that it would be very unlikely to have a Rep pres, but, I think if McCain ran, I honestly think he'd win, however having lived in MA most of my life, Romney would not be a goodrunning mate for him (no offense but Romney has not done a particularly stellar job as Gov of MA). Cheney on the other hand, I think would lose if he ran based on his age/health and his disaproval by the US people with seemingly innappropriate ties to War contract companies (yeah I forgot the company name).
