S I wanna make my gf a present and Get her Ski's boots, clothing, well everything u need. The problem is I have no clue whatsoever what even to look at. She's 5'7, weighs around 140 i think, don't really wanna ask her how much she weighs exactly, she might take it the wrong way :) She's a begginer, but I don't wanna buy her something that we will have to upgrade in a year or two. I'm looking for something that will last her couple of years and it's good quality, even at intermediate lvl. Money is not really a big issue but let's not get crazy and bring some astronomical prices in mind :)

Also what line of clothing should I look for for a woman and what kind of specs ?
I don't remember if I get the right name but we were in a shop once and she saw a great outfit, she wouldn't even think twice if I offered to buy it for her, it was called Spyder or something like that, remember it was pricey too.

I'm sure there's tons of topics like those, and I might get hated for starting another one but I hope u can help us.

Hey man, I can't help you much with the clothing (not my specialty, although I hear Burton makes quality softgoods) but I can tell you that for a strict beginner a pair of Salomon Screams or X-Screams will do the trick.  They both have excellent sidecut and don't come in as too expensive.  The X-Screams are definately the stiffer ski of the two and would qualify as an 'intermediate' ski in some cases.  Other than that you might look into the Rossignol Bandit series.  They make four different types (B1-4) and also make them available in womens configurations.  A B2w would probably last her for a few seasons.  As far as length goes I'd guess between 157 and 168 depending on how aggressive she is.

Good luck.

I just went through this with my wife.

Get her some soft skis, I first bought my wife (5'7" 130)  some salomon foil 171s (big mistake) and had to go get her new skis, I kept the 1080s and got her some salomon scrambler 4s in 160cm from 2005, and they are great, just a beg/int ski with great confidence building stablitlty and turning power.

As far as clothes go, check out evogear.com or getboards.com, they have some cool chicks stuff. My wife likes the way Oakley and Nikita clothes fit.

Boots: when in doubt salomon it out (only with boots and bindings, sometimes their skis blow), I have ridden salomon 1080 boots for almost 8 years now (different models) and got my wife performa 9.0 in 2006 and she has never once bitched about her feet, she says they are warm and comfy. they make some very nice boots these days for women.

Hey, as a girl i can surely help  you out ! I think salomon skis would be allright. they don't break too much easily. for the boots ... i personnaly have the salomon rush and they fit good. but you should never buy boots without the person... soooo buy the skis and bring her for the boots. for the clothing, 686 and Special Blend are making good stuff ! Nikita is also very good and made exclusively for women. goggles... i think smith would do it or carrera. even if i recommend oakley or Dragon for the style ;). hope it helped you.
