Canadian health care? Why do scores of canadians come to AMERICA to receive care? (i.e. surgery, etc.) How long do you Canadians have to wait to receive care? I can walk into a MDs' office, have an overview, and receive surgery hours/days later. Cardio, neuro, renal, etc. Healthcare IS expensive. I can only compare it like this... Socialized healthcare leads to degenerate healthcare. The capitalist system breeds innovations and the most competent care availiable. America leads the world in research, care, clinicals, etc. PERIOD. Please dispute this, I would love to dulge into the details.

where do you get your facts? the US may be #1 for research souly because of its population and huge economy but you can't honestly believe that the US has the best heath care in general. jsut because the US has to pay for heath insurance doesn't necessarily mean that the care provided is better. there are many countries in europe and asia that offer better health care than the US... PERIOD. furthermore, research.... how come France and the UK seem to have more medical break throughs than the US and Canada (any other country that I can think of)? for example: recently French doctors performed the 1st ever face transplant, earlier in the year the same doctors successfully performed a dual forearm transplant (thats right... both forearms, replaces). That is proof enough that the US doesn't lead the world in research, care, or anything else healthcare. The only reason that Canadians travel to the US for surgery is to avoid the wait times in Canada. Higher wages and better benefits being offered by US hospitals has been drawing Canadian doctors south of the border. The US also has more doctors and shorter wait times because of relaxed immagration laws. In Canada a doctor with full credentials moving to Canada from anywhere else in the world (got their medical degree outside of the US or Canada) has to seek recertification before practising in Canada, which inturn, leads to those same doctors going to the US because they have different immagration laws. As for the actual topic all I have to say is... fuck the liberals, vote conservative.

I would not be so quick to slam Canada. When it comes to the US and natural resources etc. you guys rely heavily on us to provide you with such amenities that keep your economy going. Also if you take a look at California, they are running out of clean drinking water and wanted to buy some from Canada. I'm actually trying to pretend Canada's election doesn't exist, and that it is all just a bad dream. I wasn't arguing our healthcare system is the best, or the most productive. Privatized health care systems are obviously more productive, but only for people who can afford them. Also, most of us are America's allies because the States is currently a major super power. We're sort of fu.cked into it, to support our own economy. (what little we have.) As for the U of Maine's paper on American health care, find me one arguing the opposite?

Poor people dont go see the same doctors as rich people do. Theres 40 million people in the USA without health care, thats more than the entire population of Canada. The reason why? These people can't AFFORD insurance! And the reason for that? well most of these people are children, you cant expect them to buy their own health insurance.
