The Mayhem Returns to Seattle

It was the first movie tour stop of it’s kind. There were thousands of dollars in product given away. There were hundreds upon hundreds of fans packing the place. There were dozens of athletes and industries attendees.

There were three of the year’s top movies, and it was all packed into one night under one roof at evo. Don’t worry; it’s back and even better for another dose of ski movie debauchery.

Clear your Saturday night! October 28th is the date of this year’s Triple Threat 2.0 hosted by none other than the center of cutting edge urban lifestyle and sports shops evo located in the Fremont district of Seattle.

You can expect to see several familiar faces this year from the movies, including, Andy Mahre, Pep Fujas, Chris Benchetler, CR Johnson, Zach Davison, Willey Miller, Brandon "Sherpa" Kelly, Erich Kunz, Charley Ager, James Heim, Josh Stack, along with some special guests and friends to be in attendance.

My Journal: Orsa

I havn´t written anything here since I moved to Orsa. Well, one reason could be that I havn´t had any internet since I left Switzerland. A month without checking my e-mail! But I guess that also was something good! So, yesterday I gave up and installed internet on my computer at home in my nice little flat. All the cables were to short so the first thing ppl will see when they step into my flat is the computer.

What else, hmm. They have made a big ski-water-jump outside our house. Really cool! I might upload some pics of it later.

I´m going home to Luleå tomorrow again. I havn´t been at home "in real" since christmas so it would be nice to see my family and friends again. And I can celebrate my birthday there too (which is tomo!!) ;-).

We met Salomon today, so it seems like I will ski on new skis this winter again! Woho :).

This is far too much text so I will go and make dinner now!

Park & Pipes - Whistler Blackcomb: Showcase Showdown Gettin' Set for This Weekend

Construction is under way for this weekends 9th Annual Sapient Showcase Showdown in the Blackcomb Night Pipe at Base 2 this weekend! Events and diggers are putting the final touches on the site today, and the weather looks sweet for the event: cold and clear!

Spectators can access the event via the Blackcomb Village Gondola; the Night Pipe is just above the Magic Chair.

Check it out; there are tons of prize giveaways for the crowd from Sapient, Option, Vans, Anon, Salomon, 32, Forum and Volcom.

Events/News - Whistler Blackcomb: Showcase Showdown Has Big Plans

The Sapient-Showcase Showdown is set to go off February 24-25 with a new format dubbed "Pipestyle." It's a new style of comp that nobody has done before, here's the details on what you can expect, and if you've got your game face on we'll hopefully see some sb.com'ers at the event...

The Pipestyle will incorporate tombstones, rails, boxes and spines into Whistler Blackcomb’s Super Night Pipe, creating a whole new style of halfpipe competition.

"The Showcase Showdown has always been about the advancement of the sport, evolving over the years from a quarterpipe competition to the Monster Box Jib Jam, and now to Whistler’s first Pipestyle," says promotions coordinator Zoltan Katchanoski.

The Showcase Showdown has long been a grass roots event made by riders, for riders. "This year we are hoping to bring it to the next level and become a highly regarded international event," Katchanoski says.

Sapient has signed on as the headline sponsor and will provide $25,000 in cash prizing. Additional event sponsors Anon, RED, Option, Vans, Salomon-Bonfire and 32 will contribute over $15,000 in prizing as well. Registration for the event is now open and there are 75 spots available to athletes.

Registration will be taken over the phone at 1-800-766-0449 or in person at Whistler Blackcomb Guest Relations for an event promising to be the most innovative, entertaining and unique, rider-driven snowboard competition of the season.

cool i found out how to use the journal.

im pretty excited because the Volkl Karma ski finally hit the demo rack here after all this time waiting, im pretty pumped to ski it. heh i was so pumped up to ski em that after work today i set them to my boots so i can just grab em and go tomarrow.

i tried a lot of the twin tip skis on the demo rack and so far here is how i rank em.

1) Salomon 1080 17? cm
2)(tied)Rossignol Scratch 17? cm
2)(tied)Armada AR 5
4)Dynastar(sp?) can't even remember, switched skis half day.

next skis to try:
1) Volkl Karma (oohhh ya its gonna be tits)
2) Salomon Pocket Rockets (they look too wide for me but i will try em)
3)K2 Public Enemys (i heard they are sloppy but we'll see)

what defines a good ski for ME. It must be agile and easy to spin, yet must still be able to carve and go fast, doesn't need to rip up mougles(i don't) and there isn't much fluff here so thats out.

ps in case anyone is wondering im about 6'1 155 lbs and i ride in Salomon 1080 boots(with a bunch of custom crap, sh*t i shouda just modified my foot!)

I'm happy :). I bought a new pair of snowboard boots yesterday. I sold my old skis today, Salomon Crossmax 8 to a friend. I bought a new snowboard today too(Head Ignition). Wounderful day. I'm free on tuesdays :). I started the day with a driving lession. And it went very well!! Then I went over to team sportia to get my skis that I've ordered from salomon :D. Well my name is Gidi born 07.07.1979 in ENGLAND living in Neve Ativ it's near the Only ski resort in Israel name Month Hermon … Nave Ativ is a small village with 32 families that own this ski resort (yes yes I got a ski resort and you don't LoL

)… it's a lovely place but for young ppl it's a bit boring.

I start skiing on winter 1981-1982 on Month Hermon.
Join the Israeli young Ski Team on 1990 but after 4 years with them I quit it.
On 1991 I won the Israeli Championship (Age 11-13) and on 1992-1993 I got second place.
On 1994 I quit skiing because a serious injury's on my two knee's

On 1995 I start Snowboarding with my first "Burton Air" after series new injury's because motorbike's, Rugby, Snowboarding, Football …. on 2000 I quit snowboarding to

Snow is all my life so I start riding on a ATOMIC SHORT-SKI 55 c"m that was ok with my injury's but the sh*t about this thing is YOU CAN'T RIDE IN DEEP SNOW

so I move to a Freestyle Skiing

YEAH staff day at nakiska was a junkshow, drunk skiing totally recommended there, especially at 9:30 when its still bulletproof comin over those rollers on to the steep bits and tryin to get an edge and crashing to your death....like me....

as per usual, i crashed big....like it states below, i do not f*ck around, when i crash, it counts

other than that, fully love the new K2's, like all of them, salomon's graphics are retarded, atomic triplets are the dumbest idea ever and head has some decent sh*t out next season for sure

Hey I’m Lauran and I am looking for freeskiing girls interested in joining the first and only all girls ski team/ club in our region. I’m the director and am looking for girls who LOVE skiing and are willing to have some fun, travel a little, and be part of something new. An article will be published about the team soon on Freeskier Magazine’s website. I am looking for as many girls to join as possible, no matter your skill level.
