We're open in 3 weeks (Nov 23)... winter's coming. Snowed to the valley on the weekend, and the alpine is caked, looks great. Still plenty more white stuff needed but should be more on it's way this weekend and beyond.

Pray for (more) snow, and we'll see ya on Nov 23.

Coors Light Triple Challenge Ski & Snowboard Festival

Collingwood, March 2006 – Blue Mountain Resort is beginning to change shape as the Coors Light Triple Challenge Ski and Snowboard Festival draws near.  Sunday, March 4th, the event site at the base of Smart Alec will come to life as the build of two 80 foot rails gets underway.  Massive preparation for the big air to rail component of the Coors Light Triple Challenge is scheduled to take the good part of a week, as Blue Mountain Resort’s operations team binds forces to create one of Canada’s largest ski and snowboard festivals.

The Coors Light Triple Challenge, March 9th through 11th is BlueMountain’s final event of the season, featuring a collection of events including half-pipe, slope style, rail jam and big air to rail competitions.  In celebration of an incredible season, the festival will also host one of the biggest free outdoor concerts of the year.

Top pro skiers and snowboarders from around the world are ready to contend in a series of events starting with the Friday night Oxy Rail Jam.  Mars Big Air to Rail participants will start off with an invitational day time qualifier on Saturday with the highest scoring competitors advancing to a night time final. On Saturday night competitors and spectators will also catch an open air concert at the base of Smart Alec on the Telus Concert Stage.  Heading up this year’s show is the punk inspired quartet, The Stills.  This Montreal based group will bring a splurge of live 80’s style rock to the scene.

Athletes may register Thursday, March 9th from 7:30 to 9:30 AM in Cascade 2 at the Grand Central Lodge.  The entry fee is $35.00 per contest with registration times running at the same time and location, Friday and Saturday.  Discounted lift tickets will be available to competitors following registration.  Please note: Competitors under 18 years of age will need a guardian to sign their waiver.  A practice session will run on site from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.  The competition kicks off Thursday morning at 10:00 AM.  Helmets are mandatory.

The Coors Light Triple Challenge: 10 mountain events, 30,000 lbs of rail, 13 million gallons of man made snow, 500+ athletes, 40 judges and 20,000 spectators you won’t want to miss!

My Journal: i love work....
By: tooscoops

what is wrong with people?  i generally like to think that everyone i meet is a nice person and i like to give them the benefit of the doubt that they are intelligent...

i may have to change my method.  it seems that most people i meet generally are not intelligent and turn out to be a**holes.  maybe its just because i meet them while i'm at work.  people i meet outside of work tend to be ok.  so why is it that people become morons when they have to purchase a car?  i mean, come on... i'm not going to give you a discount because your math skills remind me of my 10 year old nephew.

today it was a customer who was extremely happy that we made a diesel suv (the liberty)... so he was getting all excited about it and telling me the only other thing he was conidering was a tourag but they are too expensive... i told him i could sell him a liberty for around 30000 bucks... he got all excited saying that was great... less than half the tourag he was looking at, which was good because he can only afford maybe 300 a month.............. ok.   where did this guy go to school?  300 goes into 30000, 100 times.  so not including taxes or any interest, he thinks i can finace him for over 8 years?  realistically with taxes and such and a low interest rate, he'd need me to finance it over about 12 years.  sorry to get into business talk here, but what runs through peoples heads?  even a lease would be twice what he wants to pay......

now, i have another woman who came in and got quite upset with me the other day because i didn't want to drive the third car she picked out... i said, "why don't we figure it out on paper before taking the time to drive it?" and she got all bitchy and said i had to take her out because it was my job.... sorry, my job is to sell cars, not to sit in the passenger seat of a car being scared for my life becasue you can't drive.  f*ck you... i was real suprised to hear she was single... not just for the bitchiness, but for the fact that she looked like she had been beaten with a bag full of hot nickels.

My Journal: is it wrong?
By: tooscoops

alright... i have mentioned to some of you here that i go over to the mall next to my work for my little break all the time.  now, i go just to pick up a coffee or a cd... book.. whatever... but my question is this; is it wrong that i get mall discount for things?  i don't work there, but i'm there all the time.

i'm pretty sure the reason i get the discounts is because i am a pretty nice guy.  what that really means is that people usually assume i'm flirting.  (pretty much every place i get the discount its a younger girl that works there...) so thats it.... is it wrong to get the discounts?... they know i don't work in the mall... but i'd hate to get some high school girl in trouble thinking she's going to hook up with some old guy in a suit because she gives me 15% off a damn mocha red eye....

i've also had a couple ask me out..... think its worth it if i get an even bigger discount?!?!

ok.. kidding about the last part... i checked.. i wouldn't get their discount!  heh....

so i sell cars... or, to put it more literally, i attempt to sell cars.  i may have to run away from the business though.  i like to think of myself as a "people person", but lately... i don't like the people i'm dealing with and i find it hard not to tell them to f*ck off.

it starts out that they don't like me because they think that i'm going to rip them off somehow.  first off... how the f*ck am i going to do that?!  the price is in the f*cking window people!  all i do is give you a discount, so don't give me any shi*t about ripping you off.  be happy you get any discount.  then, after doing everything but lose money to make a deal, i have to get them financed... so i always ask if i will encounter any, how shall i say?... problems.  "oh no, i'm good" they always say...

then comes my credit application with a big DECLINE though it.  suddenly the customer has forgotten that they were bankrupt last year............ f*ck you mr. customer.  then when i call to let them know this, they act like its my fault that they can't get approved.  well, you know what mr. customer?  you can suck this "people persons" dick.

sorry for the rant.  i'll get back to just talking about drunken exploits soon enough.
