So few my type, but so many want me 2 die

So before da curtains close please say goodbye 2 da badguy

Verse 1

I remember az a youngster alwayz tried 2 do right

A heart so kind, n ideas dat shined like a light

A mind so bright, he culda changed da world if he tried it

He kept hiz game tight n now hiz dreams were in sight

Got exposed 2 da streets n it took over hiz life

Now he carries heat, on hiz knees erry night

Prayin to God dat he wont be da next 2 die

He smokes weed 2 release da pain he feels inside

But he cant escape da demons no matter how hard he tries

Memories of soldiers lost weigh on hiz mind

Knowin wen he out on hiz grind hiz ma sits at home n cries

But try not 2 worry mama ur son kno how 2 survive

Listen 2 me mama cuz im sayin my final goodbye

....FOR FREEDOM!!!

 “In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act. –George Orwell

The year is 1913, Woodrow Wilson is president, and powerful banking interests, who have been trying for year, finally achieved their long term goal, of silently taking control of the American government.

     The first thing the did to accomplish their take over was convince secretary of state, Flan Denox, to lie to the American people, and tell them that the 16th amendment [Income Tax Amendment] had been legally ratified by the states when it was not. The bankers knew that this tax would ultimately end up in their pockets.

     Because of this fraud the American people were led to believe there was a tax on their labor. Congress and the President ARE completely aware of this fraud and it was cited in a recent court case:

“If you… examined [the 16th amendment] carefully, you would find that a sufficient number of states ratified that amendment.” -U.S. District Court Judge, James C. Fox, 2003

That very same year [1913] the bankers committed their second, and by far most diabolical fraud ever perpetrated on the American people, by bribing senators to pass the Federal Reserve Act, without the required Constitutional amendment. They did this during Christmas vacation, when many senators where home celebrating Christmas with their families.

     And that is how the unconstitutional Federal Reserve Act came into being. They were very clever, and understood that who ever issued the money for America controlled the government.

“Give me control of a nations money supply, and I care not who makes its laws.” -Mayer Rothschild, Private Banker

President Wilson, who signed the Federal Reserve Act later said in regret:

“I’m a most unhappy man; I have unwittingly ruined my country a great industrial nation is now controlled by a system of credit. We are no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinions and duress of a small group of dominant men.” -Woodrow Wilson, 1919

How did America transform from being a truly free country with a servant government where our individual rights are protected by our Constitution, to being a country that talked about being free but really wasn’t?

     The change started when the Federal Reserve came into existence, and America adopted one of the major planks of the Communist Manifesto by creating for America this central bank.

     The very same people that back the Federal Reserve System also back the graduated income tax, a second plank from the Communist Manifesto.

     And now our Congress so dominated by the banks, is helping them entrap people even further by passing new Bankruptcy Laws making it more difficult for the people to declare bankruptcy and get a fresh start.

“Who controls money controls the world.” -Henry Kissinger, Council of Foreign Relations

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

*President Bush has signed executive orders give him sole authority to impose martial law and suspending Habeas Corpus. This gives him dictatorial power over the people without any checks or balances.

*The government can jail you for life without charges, without trial, and without a lawyer.

*Because of globalization the U.S. must accept other nations’ laws. Under the CAFTA treaty the sale of vitamins and supplements will be illegal.

*Executive Order# 10999: Allows the government to take over all modes of transportation.

*Executive Order# 11000: Allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.

* Executive Order# 11921: Provides that the president can declare a state of emergency that is not defined and Congress cannot review the action for six months.

*Senate Bill# 1873: Allows the government to vaccinate you with untested vaccines against your will.

*The FDA says: Americans do not have a right to know which foods are genetically modified.

*Congressman Sensenbrenner’s Bill (HR1528): Requires you to spy on you neighbors including wearing a wire. Refusal would be punishable by a mandatory prison sentence of at least two years.

*The government claims the power to seize all financial interments: gold, silver, and everything else if they deem an emergence exists. –treasury department letter, Aug. 12, 2005

*There are 190 countries in the world; American has bases in 130 them.

The Patriot Act permits:

*Secret FBI and police searches of your home and office.

*Secret government wiretaps on you phone, computer and/or internet activity.

*Secret investigations of your bank record, credit cards and other financial records.

*Secret investigations of your library and book activities.

*Secret examinations of your metical, travel and business records.

*The freezing of funds and assets without prior notice or appeal.

*The creation of secret watch lists that ban those named from air and other travel.

“The Constitution is just a goddamn piece of paper.” -George W. Bush, Nov. 2005, Capitol Hill Blue

During the 1990’s President Clinton monitored millions of private phone calls placed by U.S. citizens. He did this under a secret program code named: Echelon. The wide spread use of wire tapping Americans during the Clinton administration proves that this practice was not started because of 9/11 but is standard procedure.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new legislation for the national ID card is in and takes three to for pages to describe. It will be connected to our driver’s licenses and Social security numbers. A physical ID such as finger prints or retinal print will be on it.

This law known as the Real ID Act takes effect in May 2008. Anyone with out a card will not be permitted to board an air plain, Amtrak train, open a bank account, or enter a federal building.

The bill mandates that all drivers’ licenses contain “common readable technology. A radio frequency identification (RFID) chip will be used.

“It is time to wake up America. Those ID cards are NOT about defeating terrorism, they are all about controlling the American people.” -Aaron Russo

The latest technology for identifying people when they make purchases is the implantable chip that can be directly imbedded into human flesh. Its tiny glass capsule is about the size if a grain if rice. It contains an RFID computer chip with a coiled antenna.

Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and others have expressed great interest in being able to more closely monitor the American people. And one way to do that would be to determine who buys what and where they take these things.

     Radio frequency can travel through walls, wood, the things we normally rely on to protect our privacy. For example your backpack, your pocket, anything you’re wearing or carrying.

     They were talking about having reader devices in every airport, on every bus, every train, on every port and every dock.

     One of the most worrisome applications of RFID is proposals to put in cash. Meaning that you’d be able to track every bank note, where it has been, who it has been issued to, and create an essence an audit trail that would essentially take away the anonymity of cash, that we enjoy today.

     The ATM machine itself, as the money came through the roller device, would be reading each number. And it would know who you are; of course you identify yourself at banks or ATMs. And the ATM would tag the number, and transfer the possession name from, say Bank of America to Joe Jones.

     Once every thing you do is tied down to a single number, and there is no longer the option to pay with cash, then all it takes to render you a non citizen is to simply turn you chip off. Then you won’t be able to participate in ant function in society, including buy food.

     Through the implementation of the Federal Reserve System, the American citizen has gone from being a private individual who had real money, and gold in possession that was private, to a citizen who has no privacy because all money is now being digitized. They can deduct however amount of money they want out of your digits when ever they want, and they can trace you when ever they want. You’ll be at there mercy. God forbid we allow this to happen in America

“This is outrageous! I mean your talking about the government looking over your shoulder at absolutely everything you do, every purchase you make, every place you go, every company you interact with, would be recorded back to potentially the government.” -Katherine Albrecht, author of “Spy Chips”

Have we become so controlled and ignorant about our rights, that big institution and big governments can do whatever they want with us even with out our approval?

I know for certain that our founding fathers would resist to the death what is happening in America today. And I for one will not accept a national ID card. And if nobody accepts a national ID card, and nobody can board a plain without one, then let the airlines go bankrupt. And if you can’t open an account in a big national bank, then open one in a small local bank. And if we can’t walk into a federal building, I’d personally consider that a blessing.

Don’t allow these institutions to dictate to us how we conduct our lives. This is America, and we have free choice! We the people have the power not the government. The government gets its power from us, not the other way around.

Think of all the men and women that died in all our wars fighting for freedom, not Federal Reserve bankers. Do you think they sacrificed their lives so America could get chipped like a dog, so we can all have homing devices inside us? NO! This ID card is the last step before they implant us, and that is precisely the reason no one should accept one.

And you know what they’re going to do? They’re going to call in the propaganda machine, the media, and try to sell this RFID chip as if it was in everybody’s best interest.

“We shall have a world government whether or not we like it. The only question is whether the world government will be achieved by conquest or consent.” -Paul Warburg, architect of the Federal Reserve System, 1950

The central bankers of the world are working together to create a one world government. A global police sinister was the only thing George Orwell ever wrote about. Where every person on the planet Earth will have an RFID chip implant, where the bankers and the governments have access to every transaction you make.

A chip in every in everybody would be the universal monitory system, because there would be no escape from it.

Most people don’t have a clue that these unelected private bankers, actually control the governments of the world. They have actually financed and profited from ever war since World War I, without concern for humanity. The war in Iraq is an attempt by the Federal Reserve and their partner the Bank of England to control the middle east, and make it part of the new world order.

“Military men are just dumb stupid animals, to be used as pawn in foreign policies.” -Henry Kissinger

     The war on terrorism is the war on your freedom.

“The bankers own take it away from them but leave them the power to create money, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough money to buy it back again. However, take away the power to create money, and all great fortunes like mine will disappear and ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in.

But if you wish to remain slaves of the bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create money.” - Sir Josiah Stamp, former director of the Bank of England

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine, and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost 40 years.

     It would have been impossible for us to develop our plans for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But now the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march toward a world government. The supra national sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto determination, practiced in past centuries.”

-David Rockefeller, private banker, council on foreign relations, June 1991

“The real rulers in Washington are invisible and exercise power from behind the scenes.” -Felix Frankfuter, U.S. Supreme Court Justice

“It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.” -Henry Ford

     Now that you do understand what happened in 1913, and how it is leading to world government, the future depends on you. Will you choose freedom or slavery? Stop living in fear of your government. Government is the servant. We are the masters.

So what are you going to do about it? Join together in civil disobedience. Be willing to take part in nationwide strikes, boycotts, and marches on Washington. Force Congress to use their power to shut down the Federal Reserve. Government has authority to issue money, without paying interest to the bankers. This will take away the power to control our government from the bankers. Only vote for candidates who have signed an affidavit to shut down the Federal Reserve System and stop world government.

If you are in the military or law enforcement, remember you swore an oath to defend the American Constitution. You didn’t swear an oath to promote world government. Honor your Oath.

DONOT accept the national ID card, even if it’s your drivers’ license. We must demand that the American peoples gold be audited, and make certain that it has not been stolen. This asset must be returned to the American people.

Abolish computer voting in the state where you live. Stop being a good Democrat, stop being a good Republican, start being good Americans.

And when the media starts telling you that the country will fall apart if this is done, don’t be fooled. This is just the Federal Reserve trying to save itself. Squash it!

“I like the old idea, where you could do what you thought you could do and what you wanted to do as long as you didn’t hurt anyone.”

 -Ron Paul

If you believe in civil disobedience and wish to organize with millions of Americans in this battle for liberty, please sign up at freedomtofascism.com, and if you choose not to help, report to Central Services immediately and we will have you fitted for an RFID chip… for you own safety, of course.

”We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”
-Benjamin Franklin, at the signing of the Declaration of
Independence, July 4, 1776

 Uninted we stand, Divided we fall.

there goes the ripping of her skin
the water from her eyes
the red from underneath
all she hears is go go go
as her wrists bleed she yells but no one cares no one comes
she lays there pale and afraid
the demon comes in and slices her with an axe she wants it but she hates her life
the demon  comes to help her but hurts her
no one understands
as she goes to sleep with that blade in her hand  she never wakes

The ceremony will bring together the biggest names in skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, BMX, freestyle motocross and more along with dozens of celebrities from across the entertainment spectrum for one star-studded, high-flying show!

FMX star Travis Pastrana received four nominations following his double backflip performance at this summer’s X Games. Shaun White is up for three awards coming off his Olympic Gold Medal and Winter X Games Gold Medal snowboard runs. Lindsey Jacobellis contends for Female Snowboarder of the Year with fellow Olympians Hannah Teter and Gretchen Bleiler. The competition continues out of the water for surfers Andy and Bruce Irons, Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, Sofia Mulanovich, Rochelle Ballard and Chelsea Georgeson, among other top pros.

“Being nominated for one award would be special, but four awards is truly unbelievable,” said Pastrana. “I’ve had just an amazing year and to be recognized by the industry is an honor.”

Winners will be determined by the combination of fan balloting and a panel of expert judges, then announced during taped ceremonies on November 30. FOX will air the show nationally on December 10, at 2:30 PM ET/PT or 4:30 PM ET/PT either preceding or following local NFL coverage that afternoon (check local listings). FUEL TV is supporting the event with its signature red carpet series "Blue Carpet Special," a special preview show premiering November 6, and will re-telecast the Arby’s Action Sports Awards throughout December.

"The growth and popularity of action sports is at an all-time high and it is time to honor such amazing feats as Shaun White’s Olympic Gold Medal and Travis Pastrana’s double backflip at the X Games," said Bain. "Not only do children aspire to be the next Pastrana or White, but the music and entertainment industries have a true affinity for these sports, so we look forward to putting together a memorable event for viewers."

Arby’s has signed on to be the presenting sponsor and other major sponsors include Jeep®, Activision and Nike. "Through this event, we’ve been able to create an unprecedented integrated marketing platform to reach the highly sought-after male 14-34 demo in the fourth quarter," said Burg. "For a creative and aggressive marketer, the opportunities to work with the show are endless"

"This was a fantastic opportunity for us to partner with a brand new awards program that recognizes young athletes for extraordinary talents," said Debra Mager, Senior Vice President of National Advertising, Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. "These kids take risks and excel at being different, which is something we at Arby’s have always prided ourselves on."

A panel of industry experts nominated the top athletes in 20 different categories. Many of the awards are sport and gender specific such as Skateboarder of the Year (male and female) and FMX Rider of the Year. Whistler Blackcomb has kicked off “If Ullr Was A Girl”, the first contest of its kind, offering a huge prize purse of $25,000 for a female skier or snowboarder who’s crowned Ullr Girl. The contest officially began September 1st with Whistler Blackcomb’s launch of the contest’s voting microsite ifullrwasagirl.com.

In old Scandinavian myth, Ullr was the god of justice and dueling, but was most well known for his beauty and mastery of skiing. Every winter, Whistler invokes the favour of Ullr with a huge party involving the ritual of burning skis and boards in hopes of epic snowfall that winter. Legend has it that as the god of all things ridden on snow, Ullr was not only a kick-ass rider, but had the passion, confidence and attitude befitting a Norse god as well. Although Ullr is cast as a male in ancient myth, Whistler Blackcomb began wondering, what if Ullr was a girl? What would she be like? What would it take to find her? The “If Ullr Was A Girl” contest will provide those answers.

The search for Whistler Blackcomb’s Ullr Girl launches with a wide net being cast across North America in search of the ultimate mountain girl - someone with a passion for skiing and snowboarding that can rip it up on and off the slopes.

“This contest is designed to celebrate women whose lives and passions revolve around snowsports and who embody mountain culture, to provide them with a venue to showcase their talents to the world, and to reward them significantly for what they do and believe in every day,” says Christy Allan, Whistler Blackcomb’s General Manager of Marketing. “Whistler already enjoys the benefits of having some of the best skiers and riders in the world training and playing on our doorstep. This contest will help us to connect with even more female athletes, celebrate their love of snowsports, and discover that ultimate mountain girl.”

Women are invited to enter in two categories to win the Ullr Girl title – an Open category which includes all pro athletes, and an Amateur category. The contest will culminate at Whistler’s 2007 TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival (TWSSF), April 13-22, where the athlete in the Open category who best demonstrates her world class athleticism and embodiment of Whistler’s mountain culture is awarded a grand prize of $25,000. Amateurs will vie for their own Ullr Girl prize package which includes a professional photo shoot, inclusion in a Matchstick Productions’ or Misschief Films DVD, a new gear set up and a Whistler Blackcomb season pass. Whistler Blackcomb will award the grand prizes after the votes accumulated through ifullrwasagirl.com are in, and all finalists compete in a series of events at the TWSSF in Whistler.

Ifullrwasagirl.com will host the first portion of the contest where athletes are already posting their bios, photos and videos in order to vie for the votes of site visitors from around the world. Three Open athletes and three Amateur athletes with the most votes by February 19, 2007 will each win a 7-day, 6 night trip to Whistler during the TWSSF to compete in the finals. Site visitors voting on ifullrwasagirl.com can also enter to win a trip to Whistler to be one of the judges for the finals.

In addition to the voted-in athletes in the Open category, additional pro skiers and snowboarders will be chosen by an athlete selection committee to compete in the finals. The additional athletes chosen will round out the Open category up to a maximum of 8 skiers and 8 snowboarders. All invited Open athletes will be chosen from the online profiles on ifullrwasagirl.com, making participation in the website a requirement for an invitation to the finals in Whistler.

The Ullr Girl finals for both Open and Amateur categories will consist of the following four event components:
  1. A big mountain competition which will be held in-bounds on Whistler Blackcomb
  2. A parks and pipe competition (exact format to be announced)
  3. An arts component based on the TWSSF events. Each athlete will be asked to pick an art form – for example photography, film, art, or music – to present during a special evening event at the TWSSF.
  4. Votes on ifullrwasagirl.com. Votes for the final selection will refresh on March 1st with skiers and snowboarders starting with a clean slate.

During the on-mountain events, skiers and snowboarders will be judged by different judging panels and ranked separately. All four event categories will carry equal weight and the finalists will be awarded points for their ranking in each event. The grand prize winners in the Open category and the Amateur category will be the two athletes who accumulate the most points after all four categories are totaled.

Full contest information and rules, as well as details on posting an athlete profile, nominating a girl, voting, or applying to be a judge, are available on-line at ifullrwasagirl.com

INTEGRATED PHYSICS AND CHEMISTRY – UNIT 1
STRUCTURE OF MATTER (PART 1)

PROPERTIES OF MATTER (1)

The Greek philosophers of the third and fourth centuries B.C. were great thinkers. Long before the advent of modern devices like calculators and microscopes, these philosophers were asking the same questions that today's chemists and physicists study. For instance, these early scientists wondered: If you divide a cup of water in half, then divide it in half again, and continue dividing it in half, do you ever run out of water and end up with something else? The thinkers of ancient Greece tried to reason things out without performing experiments, leading individuals to multiple answers to common questions. As a result, several theories about the nature of matter abounded during the ancient times.

The man who came closest to our modern view of matter was Democritus, who lived about 460 B.C. He believed that all matter was composed of a large number of small objects which he called atoms (from a Greek word meaning indivisible). Democritus believed these objects were in constant motion, and that they combined with each other in different shapes and sizes.

Another Greek philosopher, Aristotle, believed that all matter was composed of one or a combination of four things: earth, fire, air, and water. He disagreed with almost all of the ideas of Democritus.

The ideas put forth by Aristotle were so influential that theories of matter changed very little until 1808 when the scientist John Dalton developed new theories. Dalton performed experiments to help answer his questions, eventually developing the atomic theory. This theory states that all matter consists of extremely small particles--Democritus's atoms. Dalton determined that all atoms of any one element are similar to one another but are different from atoms of all other elements. Dalton also believed that atoms were indivisible, a hypothesis which has since been proven false.

Today, with the aid of the electron microscope and other modern technology, groups of atoms, called molecules, can be "seen." Models of particles even smaller than atoms have been developed. As you can see, throughout the centuries scientists have attempted to unravel the inner secrets of matter.

In this unit you will study some of the things scientists have discovered about matter and thus gain an ever greater appreciation for this magnificent universe.

Scientists study the world around us to learn how materials are alike and different. Some of the ways that kinds of matter differ are easy to see and some are not. Every kind of material has at least one property that makes it different from any other material. Why can glass be used for cookware but plastic usually cannot? Why do different objects of equal weight occupy different amounts of space? How can an object be changed from one kind of matter to another? What property explains rust on a piece of metal? These questions and others are answered by studying the properties of matter in the following lessons.

GENERAL PROPERTIES OF MATTER

How is all matter alike? Let us examine the two basic properties that all matter shares.

Volume. The first general property of matter is that it takes up space. No two units of matter can take up the same space at the same time. One unit must move. If you have ever dropped something into a full pail of water, you might have noticed that some of the water flowed over the edge of the pail. Whatever was dropped into the pail took up some of the space that had been filled by the water. As a result, some of the water was displaced from (pushed out of) the pail. Air can also push water out of one place and into another. The amount of space that matter takes up is called the volume of that matter. Thus, a giant boulder has more volume than a small rock. However, any unit of matter, large or small, solid, liquid, or gas, takes up some space and therefore has volume.

You can determine the volume of an object in two ways:

  1. For an object of uniform shape having linear sides or a common geometric shape (for example, a block of wood, a brick, or a cylinder): Measure the object and determine the volume mathematically.
  2. For an irregularly shaped object which cannot be measured easily or does not consist of uniform geometric shapes (for example, a horseshoe or a blob of silly putty): Determine the volume of water which it displaces. The volume of water displaced equals the volume of the object, as long as the object does not dissolve in or absorb water.

When measuring a volume of water in a graduated cylinder or similar container, be sure you are reading at the lowest point of the curved surface of the water, the meniscus. Study Figure 1 to find the correct level.

Mass. If you were to lift a small stick and a large rock, you could tell quickly which one was heavier. This experiment would tell you about another general property of matter. All matter on earth has weight. When you weigh something, you are measuring the pull of the earth's gravity on that object. Why do some things weigh more than others? The reason is that some things have more matter in them than others. The amount of matter in an object is called the mass of that object. Mass is measured in grams. The more mass an object has, the greater the force of gravity will be on it. As a result the object will weigh more. Keep in mind that the terms mass and weight are defined differently.

Remember that weight changes slightly with altitude or position on the earth. Weight on the moon is substantially different than weight on earth. The mass of an object, however, is constant--it doesn't change. Because the weight of an object is not constant, merely weighing an object will not allow you to determine its mass. The mass of an object is determined by placing it on a balance and comparing it with a known standard mass. The standard of mass is the kilogram (kg).

SPECIAL PROPERTIES OF MATTER

We know that all matter must possess mass and take up space. Yet, other properties can help us learn what makes each kind of substance different from the others.

Knowing the shape, odor, taste, color, density, buoyancy, freezing point, and boiling point of a material will tell us what the substance is like. These properties are called special properties. These special properties tell us a great deal about the ways a substance may react or be used. For example, you may have three beakers full of different liquids; one contains plain water, one contains grape soda, and one contains white vinegar. All three liquids have mass and take up space. How can we tell them apart? One way is to classify the three liquids according to their special properties. The soda can be distinguished from the other two by its color and taste. The water and the vinegar look the same but can be distinguished from each other by odor, taste, and boiling point.

We can also find out many of the special properties of a substance by looking at a table or chart that has this kind of information.

Knowing differences between one type of matter and another helps us classify things. Since all matter has mass and takes up space, the special properties are important for us to know.

Density. Density is an important special property of matter that needs further explanation. Density is the mass of a substance per unit of volume. In the metric system, volume is measured in liters, milliliters, or in the case of the figure to the right, cubic centimeters (cm3). It may be expressed in grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm3). For example, water has a density of 1 gram per cubic centimeter. If we compare a thousand grams of iron with a thousand grams of water, their masses are equal; but the container holding the water would be much larger than the one containing the piece of iron because the iron has a greater density.

Another way of looking at density is to compare cotton and lead. If you take two equal sized boxes and fill one with cotton and one with lead, you will see that the cotton and lead both occupy equal volumes. What do you think would happen when you try to lift the boxes? Which one would be heavier? Because the lead has more mass per box than the cotton does, you could conclude that the lead has greater density. Simply put, a given volume of lead contains more mass than does the same volume of cotton. To find the density of a substance, you must first know its mass and volume. Figure 2 lists densities of some common substances.

Note: This and other answers may be printed as 2g/cm3. This format is used by some computers, printers, and calculators solely to keep the text on the same line.

Buoyancy. Why do some things float? You already know that heavy objects tend to sink, and light or hollow objects tend to float. Floating is related to density. Paper, cork, wood, and some plastics float on water. Each of these substances has a low density. A piece of steel will sink to the bottom. Yet, a merchant ship made of steel will float. Why?

When an object is placed into a liquid, it pushes that liquid aside. The object displaces the liquid. In other words, it moves the liquid to another place since both substances cannot occupy the same space at the same time. When you get into a filled bathtub, you probably notice that the water level rises. Your body is displacing or pushing aside a certain amount of water. If the mass of the amount of liquid displaced is equal to the mass that displaced it, the object will float. This law, or principle, is known as the Archimedes' Principle, named for Archimedes, the Greek philosopher who discovered it. When a block of wood is placed in water, it sinks until an amount of water exactly equal to the mass of the block is displaced. The water underneath the wood exerts a push or force to hold it up. This upward force is called buoyancy.

Freezing and boiling points. Temperatures of the boiling and freezing points of substances are special properties of matter. Different materials have different freezing and boiling points.

The freezing point is the temperature at which a liquid changes to a solid. The boiling point is the temperature at which a liquid changes to a gas. Because each substance has a unique freezing and boiling point, many unknown liquids are able to be identified by measuring their freezing and boiling points.

Measurements of freezing and boiling points are made using the Celsius temperature scale (Figure 3). Celsius temperature has been accepted around the world and has everyday use in many countries. The freezing point of water on the Celsius scale is 0°C. The boiling point is 100°C. The thermometer has one hundred degrees of temperature between the freezing and boiling points. The term centigrade is also used in referring to the Celsius scale. The Fahrenheit temperature scale is commonly used in many homes, but does not have the world-wide use that the Celsius has. The Fahrenheit scale is different in that water freezes at 32° and boils at 212°.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF MATTER

To understand fully the properties and nature of matter, we must look beyond the physical characteristics of matter. Some properties of matter depend upon the reactions of a substance with other substances. These properties are called chemical properties of a substance. Chemical reactions depend on how different substances combine with each other. If an element will not combine with any other substance it is said to be inert.

Simple Observations of Physical and Chemical Changes (Click on the image above.)

The souring of milk, the burning of a log, and the rusting of iron all involve reactions of substances resulting in changes in their chemical compositions. In rusting or burning a chemical process occurs when a substance combines with the oxygen in the air and a change takes place. These chemical processes are examples of oxidation, the result of combining a particular substance with oxygen. Rapid oxidation causes burning while instant oxidation causes an explosion.

My Blog: In my Room
By: shadow_x260

2:45 and the bell went off,
Thank God,
Many people think im odd
But I talk with no one,
And I walk alone,and I avoid sunlight with a chalky tone
I get home and dont say hi,
It aint no one there,
I dont care I walk in and go right up the stairs
To my room
Get in bed and just wait for dark cause thats when the real show starts (tap tap)
'tap tap' on the glass go the piece of ass'
So young and pretty its too bad she past
But she comes to my room and we talk at night,she's demonic and bloody,but she holds me tight
In my bedroom,with her im never alone,and I kiss her cold lips until morning comes
Then she gone,
I can still hear her voice loom.
But she only exists in the dark of my room

[chorus: x2]

Love...
(I cant ignore you)
In my room
(do anything for you)
Love...
(I do adore you)
In My Room...
You and I

I try to smile alot,but im always frontin,but I do love a ghost and atleast thats something.
She dont talk much,
When she do it get cold,
Usually we just lay there and we hold each other, we're lovers we dont need others,
One of my mother's cats jumped up on the covers
And it scared my baby guess she dont like pets so I twisted its f*ckin head off at the neck
Look baby,
It's bloody, it's gone, it's doomed, please come back to the room I do anything for thy, dont ignore me this is more than a sick love story
W/o you id bring a shotgun to school and I will if you want me to for any reason
I hate that u leave when the lights come on and if I had it my way the f*ckin sun would be gone!

[chorus x2]

Sometimes I kiss her and I start shakin,she slips me the tongue and it taste like bacon.
Uh oh somethings wrong baby's upset
She told me she was spotted by the neigbors kid
She cant come back now cause they know our secret
Unless I can make them keep it.
If I do she may come to life now in their yard with a shotgun and knife
Cut the screen
Went in and found the kid
Blew a bowl of spaghetti in the side of his head,the daddy was next runnin down the hall,I shredded his throat and he was
Quick to fall,tossed the mossberg and gripped the knife,started stabin the shi*t out of his wife,
Went home a bloody mess with a job well done.
Wash up and wait for my baby to come

[chorus x2]

I waited two or three days, four days, waited for the tap tap like always. I waited and hated this I created a bloody mess.
I waited two or three months, four months, waited for the tap tap just for once. I waited and hated this I created a bloody mess.
I waited two or three days, four days, waited for the tap tap like always. I waited and hated this I created a bloody mess.
I waited two or three months, four months, waited for the tap tap just for once. I waited and hated this I created a bloody mess.

For anyone reading, a reminder that I teach snowboarding (skiing too, but prefer the boarding). In the PSIA/AASI forum, I had written kind of a summary. Anyways, here is my input (part 1) between the two sports:

The third week of June 2006 was the best week of my life! Went from being the instructor all winter to being the student. I saved up and for my vacation I went to wakeboard camp http://wakeboardingcamp.com

From the couple of tries at wakeboarding in 2005, as compared to what I learned by trained instructors at camp - well, there is no comparison. Before, I could get up, carve some, through trial and error taught myself surface 180's and could ride switch which came from the snowboarding experience, but beyond that I was more or less clueless on the physics and effective ways to wakeboard.

The liquidifed version of boarding certainly has many similarities to snowboarding. The way we use camber to pressure the board and make certain movements such as in ollies, seems to similarly equivalate "rocker" on the board, with different rocker designs affecting pop and IMO, a "reverse" type of pressure distributing used when getting pop off the wake. Edging and using basic flexion and extension and general riding seems to mimic "powder riding". What really stood out for me as a snow instructor and now more engrained into my brain come winter time was the relationship of how the upper body movement's affect the performance down below. With the wakeboard, a bad habit I'm glad I broke early was the "breaking at the waist" (arms way out and board one direction and rear end sticking way out- a bad riding habit I've personally worked on breaking before in the snow.) Ollies still are not one of my stronger riding points, but do carry very similar movements as the snowboarding does.

Another thing I didn't realize prior but do now; when self-teaching myself on the water, I figured to keep the nose of a wakeboard up, just pressure that rear leg and walla -- now I see and feel the difference, much like snowboarding, tail weighting that board is going to create less effective movements and slower response. Distributing the weight equally (or close to) on the wakeboard is best. The rocker is going to help with keeping that nose from digging in too much.

Traditionally, at least based on my obsevations, wakeboards had dual center fins on either end. I had the opportunity to demo a couple of boards and this year a four fin model (with NO center fins) - the "Hyperlite Drive". One of these days when I get a digital camera to replace the old broken one, I'll have to take pictures of my favorite summer toy.  Now if I just had the money for a boat so I didn't always have to mooch pulls.

Whats Wrong wih Me..

Leave me all alone
There aint nobody callin on my telephone
Because I ripped that bitch right up outta the wall
I apologize to any yall that tried to call
I haven’t been myself lately
I’ve been slowly loosing my mind
And tellin them its gravy
I’m looking hella shady
And I haven’t showered in weeks
I haven’t washed my balls
I haven’t brushed my teeth
All I see is demons everywhere that I look
Was it the Ojai?
The black magic?
Warlock book?
I can’t remember
Well how can my memories leave me?
I can’t believe the spirits would try to receive me
But they did
Just like a little kid
I was so eager to learn
So willing to give
But all they did was hate me and break me
Use my body for a host and my mirror for the gateway

Something is wrong with me
I can’t be who I need to be
Something is wrong with me
Will it last for eternity?
Something is wrong with me
I can’t be who I need to be
Will it last for eternity?

Please don’t walk away
I want you to hear what I gotta say
I never had anyone never care for me
I never had anyone never there for me
If you would listen to me instead of callin me names
I would explain why I’m shaking and I’m going insane
My mind is on vacation
Lack of conversation
I’m like a radio with static on every station
Still I wanna know will I be normal again
You say its bullshi*t and tell me that it's all pretend
But if it’s false then why don’t these demons just disappear
And if it's untrue then why am I seein them crystal clear?
Because I do
The mirrors turning blue
And soul after soul keeps walking right through
They’re livin in my house
And living inside my head
Some sleep inside the closet
Others sleep under the bed

Something is wrong with me
I can’t be who I need to be
Something is wrong with me
Will it last for eternity?
Something is wrong with me
I can’t be who I need to be
Something is wrong with me
Will it last for eternity?

All I wanted to be was a member of a family with unity
But the people that’s alive
Will stab you straight in the back
And throw a stick in the spokes
And flip you off of the tracks
If it wasn’t for monoxide and violent j,
That ****** jack,
Shaggy 2 dope,
And blaze ya dead homie
I probably would have given up and callin it quits
I probably wouldn't be here
I probably wouldn't be shi*t
I find myself looking back in the glass and reminisce on the times of the present and past
I’m feelin strange
I wonder if they can save me
I’m feeling cold
I’m standing in front of the gateway
Well here I am
I’m such a crazy man
I’m trying to control my life the best that I can
But the demons are around me trying to stray me away
I thank god that I’m standing right here today

Something is wrong with me
I can’t be who I need to be
Something is wrong with me
Will it last for eternity?
Something is wrong with me
I can’t be who I need to be
Something is wrong with me
Will it last for eternity?

(Is it really my fault?)
(There’s something wrong inside my head
I can’t be alone)
(Is it really my fault?)
(There’s something wrong inside my head
I can’t be alone)
(Will it last for eternity?)

Something is wrong with me
I can’t be who I need to be
Something is wrong with me
Will it last for eternity?

									1. Intro

    Producing pictures from ascii is such a strange idea, and yet the results
    can sometimes be quite impressive. Although there are a many different
    forms of ascii art, they all use basically the same ideas to produce
    the end result.

    The techniques I use are based around a few simple rules. These rules
    help me make decisions about which character to use, and where to place
    it. Of course they aren't strict rules, but they make a good foundation
    upon which to build a picture.

    This is not intended as the "definitive" guide to ascii creation, but is
    instead simply an analysis of how I approach the subject.

						2. Line Art

    Line art is where you represent a picture by just it's outlines and
    details. Comic art is good material for this type of work since you have
    a definite outline to work from. However, any picture can be reproduced
    just by defining it's various boundaries.

    There are many standard characters which can be applied to this form
    of ascii art. These are the most obvious ones:

    / \ | - _ + ( ) < > , . ~ ^ " V X T Y I l L : ` ' ! j J 7

    Start by finding an area of the picture which is fairly simple. From
    there, work your way around the perimeter creating an outline using
    just these "basic" ascii characters:

    / \ | - _ ( )

    Try to get proportions correct at this stage, because it IS important,
    and the later you leave it the harder it is to correct. You can also
    draw in some of the larger details at this stage, which may help get the
    proportions correct.

    Once you're happy with that, it's time to go over the whole thing and
    work on the anti-aliasing. I like to have *every* line connect up,
    leaving no large gaps such as:

    ~~~~~~~~________
    If I come across an area which has no "ultimate" choice of characters,
    I may decide to add an extra detail there. For example, "near" vertical
    lines are virtually impossible in ascii. Here's some options:
                   |         |        |        |        |
                   |         l        l.       \        l
                    |         I       `|        Y       `L
                    |         |        |        |        |
                 START       ^----------OPTIONS----------^
    As you can see, none of them produce the "perfect" results I'd like.
    In this case, I would try adding some form of detail in there thus
    removing the problem. It doesn't always work, but it's worth a try.
    Near-horizontal lines are much easier (thankfully). Using these
    chars: ( ~"-.,_ ) you can quite easily produce a reasonably decent
    line. The previous (horizontal) example would become:
    __
      "~~"----..,___
    Or at least something to that effect. I usually get very "nit-picky"
    and arrange the comma just before an underscore since it sits down
    one pixel lower than the full-stop ("."). I also like to carefully
    select between the " and ~ since they each have their own distinct
    properties. Avoid using this technique at angles around 30 degrees
    (looks a bit odd), and very slight angles (because it results in a
    long line of dots, and that doesn't look good).
    Actually, the selection of the picture is very important in determining
    how the resulting pic will look. You also have the option of changing
    certain parts of the pic, so that they work better in the ascii format.
    For example, instead of trying to do a near-vertical line, just make it
    perfectly vertical.
    Curves also play an important role in ascii art. Although the standard
    ascii character set does not directly support curves (apart from "(" and
    ")" of course :), you can get some nice curves with a little bit of work.
    Here's the most often used chars for curve creation:
    / \ - _ ~ " . , ' ` ! I l Y
    And here's a couple of sample curves to demonstrate the idea:
                     ___
                 .-~"   "~-.                           /
                /           \                      _.-~
               Y             Y                   ,^
               |             |                  /
               l             !                 /
                \           /             __.-~
                 "-.,___,.-"
                   CIRCLE                SUBTLE CURVATURES
    Some people wouldn't like the use of "Y" and "^", but to me, the
    advantages outweigh the negative aspects. Also note the use of "l" and
    "!" to make the transition from vertical to angled less pronounced.
    I also consider the choice between "." an "," important because it
    affects the smoothness of the line. For example, in the part on the
    above curve: _.- :it looks like a "," may have been a better choice:
                      /             But as you can see here, using the
                  _,-~              comma has altered the flow of the
                ,^                  line somewhat. It now appears as
               /                    more of a "step" rather than an
              /                     angled line.
          _,-~
        CURVE USING COMMA
    Intersections require yet another strategy. Often you'll find that one
    line must join onto another at a place where the join isn't neat:
        "-._ /         "-._ /           Here the incoming line should join
            /              7            onto the main part halfway through
           /              /             a "/". That's where you can use some
                                        other chars. In this example, a "7"
     INTERSECTION        FIX            would work well, as seen in the
                                        example to the left.
    You could also try "Z" "X" "T" "Y" as a replacement, but it depends
    entirely on what is happening around that point as to which char works
    the best. Other chars which work well in these situations are "K" "<" ">"
    "r" "L" "j" "J" and "I" because they all point in at least 3 directions.
    After practice, the anti-aliasing can be done as you are drawing the
    main outline. Not that it really makes any difference.
    That basically covers the outline techniques. The smaller details are
    the next, and final, step. Adding details isn't always necessary, but
    it will be in most cases. Eyes, noses, finger nails, switches, knobs,
    handles, plus a host of other things are usually confined to just one
    or two character spaces, so the choice of chars is quite important.
    Eyes are a common example. You have quite a few different characters
    available which work well as eyes, but it's up to you to decide which
    work best. You need to decide what "emotion" you want to portray, and
    then find an appropriate character.
    As some examples, I have used two "6"'s for a kangaroo, a "bd" combo
    for a horse, a pair of "r"'s for a giraffe and: -=b- :as the eye of
    an eagle. In each case, I tried many different combinations until I
    was happy with the selection:
              .
          /\ /|            .  ,       ___,A.A_  __       _____
         ((.Y(!            |\/|       \   ,   7"_/      /     ~"-.
          \ |/             bd "n.      ~"T(  r r)      Y   -=b-. _)
          /  6~6,         /   _,"n       | \    Y      l      c"~o \
          \ _    +-.     <co>'\          |  ~\ .|       \_.-~"~--.  )
           \`-=--^-'      ~~             |   |`-'                 )/
            \ \                                                   '
    Other details are equally important, and the same technique is used.
    Just trying different combinations of characters until a "solution"
    is found. Sometimes there is no optimum arrangement, so you either
    have to live with it, or rearrange things just enough to give you a
    fresh angle of attack.
              ____
           .-~. /_"-._       This T-Rex head demonstrates how you can use
          / /_ "~o\  :Y      the character shapes to an advantage. The "L"
         / : \~x.  ` ')      at the bottom joins three connections together
           |  Y< ~-.__j      quite well, as does the "Y" at the back of the
         : l  l<  /.-~       mouth. These are things too look out for when
         l /~\ \<|Y          creating a picture, and by using the chars in
          '.-~\ \L|          such a fashion, you can usually get quite a lot
               "--'          of detail into a small area.
						3. Small/Signature Art
    Smaller artwork requires a slightly different approach than the large
    pieces. Due to the smaller area, you aren't always able to recreate
    a picture perfectly, so a different frame of mind is needed.
    Take, for example, the kangaroo head above. The back of the neck should
    of course be curved, but this was not possible with only two characters.
    In smaller pics however, it's not always necessary to be that detailed,
    it is more important to focus on making the object immediately
    identifiable.
    Small ascii pictures usually start from a simple motif or idea. The way
    certain characters fit together often creates the idea, and once an idea
    is found, you have a base to work from.
            ___
          {~._.~}      This little koala pic is a good example of how a
           ( Y )       relatively simple collection of characters can
          ()~*~()      produce a very "familiar" result. Some experimenting
          (_)-(_)      was done with the eyes, "bow tie" and the bottom "-",
                       with these being chosen simply because they worked the
    best. Different "eye" characters produced different emotional feelings
    (which is how the "Koala Collection" came about), but the simple "."
    resulted in the most familiar appearance.
    Remember, shape is the most important aspect of small ascii art. There
    are so many different shaped ascii characters available that there
                                  is bound to be one which fits the needs
              _ .                 of the picture. This example is a "mini"
           __CL\H--.              Millennium Falcon. Since I'd already
          L__/_\H' \\--_-         drawn a bigger one, I knew exactly what
           __L_(=): ]-_ _-- -     shape it needed to be, and what features
          T__\ /H. //---- -       it needed to make it look like the Falcon.
             ~^-H--'
                "                 Picking out the main features is a good
                                  step, and then find chars which closely
    resemble them. The blasters on top of the Falcon were well emulated by
    the "=" for example. The combination of "CL" worked perfectly as the
    cockpit, as did a simple ":" for the distinctive markings on it's back.
    Simplicity is the key in small art, but that doesn't necessarily make
    things any easier. Many things simply cannot be successfully drawn in
    small sizes, so a touch of planning can sometimes help.
						4. Solid Art
    Solid ascii art differs from line art in that the resulting image is
    more of a "silhouette" rather than an outline.
    By using a "heavy" character such as: W M H 8 :you build up a basic
    silhouette (filled in outline), and then use other characters to anti-
    alias (smoothen) the image.
    "W" and "M" are the darkest characters in most character sets, but they
    do vary quite a lot and are a bit too bottom/top heavy which ruins the
    effect somewhat. "H" and "8" also produce patterns of similar darkness,
    but result in two different "looks". The "H" is more stark and rigid,
    whereas the "8" produces a more "bubbly" appearance (which prints up
    quite well apparently).
            WWWWWWWW       MMMMMMMM       HHHHHHHH       88888888
            WWWWWWWW       MMMMMMMM       HHHHHHHH       88888888
            WWWWWWWW       MMMMMMMM       HHHHHHHH       88888888
            WWWWWWWW       MMMMMMMM       HHHHHHHH       88888888
    I originally used "M" and "W" since they worked well with the font I once
    used, but now I use "H" because I like its consistency. Other people
    prefer "8", so it's really just a matter of personal taste. Indeed,
    remapping an image from one type into another is quite simple, and should
    not affect the picture at all.
    Different effects can be created by varying the chosen texture over
    various sections of the picture (shading). The choice of character can
    also be based on the subject matter, for example, if money were involved
    the obvious choice would be a "$". Try to avoid using "*" though, as it
    looks a bit cheesy (imho).
    Once the basic shape is defined with the chosen character, the anti-
    aliasing process is next. The most used chars are:
    d b P F 9 V T Y A U _ , . - * ^ ~ " ` ' n a o l L j J k [ ] ( ) : \ / | !
    Each character has a purpose based on its shape, although there are
    cases where no character will produce perfect results. In these cases,
    you either have to make do as best you can, or remodel that particular
    area of the picture, thus giving you a fresh approach.
    Going back to the earlier "curve" examples, here they are in solid form:
                  .adAHHHAbn.                           JHH
                 dHHHHHHHHHHHb                      _.adHHH
                dHHHHHHHHHHHHHb                   ,AHHHHHHH
                HHHHHHHHHHHHHHH                  dHHHHHHHHH
                VHHHHHHHHHHHHHP                 JHHHHHHHHHH
                 YHHHHHHHHHHHP              _.adHHHHHHHHHHH
                  "^YUHHHUP^"              HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
                      "~"
                    SPHERE                   CURVED HILL
    It's important to get a good understanding of how best to use the
    characters. The basic forms are as follows:
          _,.aomdAHAbmon.,_     For the upper curves.
            "~^*YUHUP*^~"       For the lower curves.
    The characters: d b P :are all extremely useful, but there is no
    equivalent character for bottom/left. There is, however, four chars
    available which do a decent job: T Y V 9 .The 9 works well for *some*
    char sets, but generally it has a big hook at the bottom so isn't
    quite so useful.
    Notice how I've used "A" and "U" to smoothen the transistion from "H"
    to "d"/"b" (and "Y"/"P" respectively) even though the effect is quite
    subliminal. A minor detail, but it does help. I don't often use "_"
    in these types of pics because of the way it touches the top of the
    "H". It does come in handy sometimes though.
    Side curves require more of an "on the spot" approach. The chars:
    l [ ] : j i :all come in handy when trying to smoothen out vertical
    curves, and I've also seen "(" and ")" used (although I wouldn't use
    them myself). Consistency in contrast is very important.
    Adding details using the solid ascii technique is a bit harder than
    in line art because there isn't the same number of possible choices
    for each position. The letters: a n o :are all very useful because
    they are nice "solid" chars which only occupy the bottom half of the
    character space, but there is no good alternative for the top half.
             dHF^^^      See how the bottom arm fits in with the solid
            dHP          appearance of the main part, yet the "^" (which
           dHBooan       is the closest char available) doesn't look so
                         beefy. Even the "^" varies across different char
    sets, so that leaves just: " ~ : which are of no use at all. In that
    particular case, it is necessary to expand the picture by one line:
              anpoan     Note the use of the "p" to make the effect just
             dHP         that little bit more effective. An "r" could also
            dHP          work well at the end of each arm. Purely cosmetic
           dHBooan       though. Note that if you're using "M" or "W", then
                         "m" and "w" can be used to keep it consistent.
    Details aren't always as simple as that example though (unfortunately).
                   HHHH              aann               .aoon.
           HHHHHHHHHHHHH      aanndHHHHHHP"     "^vaondAHHHHHP"
                HHHHHHH         "~^YHHHHH           "~^SHHHHH
              HHHHHHHHHH          dHHHHHHb          .adHHHHHHh,
                   HHHHHH           ~^VHHHP             ~^VHHHP
                     HH                YHP                 "VP
                 START            HALF WAY           FINISHED
    The different steps can be seen here. Starting by roughing out the shape
    (a wizards head incidentally) using the chosen character. Next, go over
    all the edges making all the obvious replacements. That means using:
    d P b Y V a n :plus the occasional: " ~ :if there's an obvious place for
    it. Just enough to give it some shape.
    The final stage requires a bit more work. Start with "A" and "U"/"V",
    and then the rest is purely experimentation. The "S" was chosen because
    it seemed to have the right shape, although there are many chars which
    could really go there.
    The curve section at the back required quite a lot of work. An "a" seems
    to be the best opposite of "n", and for long stretches, I like to use
    some "o"'s in there just to mix it up a bit. The: "^ :piece at the end
    was an obvious combination, so it was just a matter of finding a char
    to connect the "a" to the "^". As it turned out, "v" was custom made
    for that position.
          WMHI:    .:IHb.      I     Smooth shading can be created by using
          MH[:   .adAHHHI:.   :H     different chars to fade out at the edges,
          HI:  .:IHHHHHI:'  .jIH     instead of the anti-aliasing (which
          Y:     `:YHHI:' .:|IHM     produces hard edges).
    Good "outer" characters are:    . , : ; ' `
    For the transition from solid to outer edge:   I H A U V T Y | i j d b
    n a o [ ]   :or basically anything that produces the desired effect.
    Both line and solid techniques can be combined together, resulting in
    a "comic book" look and feel. Each form of ascii art works well in
    certain circumstances, so why not use this to your advantage. Line art
    for the various outlines and small details, and solid art for large
    dark areas.
						5. 3 Dimensional Art
    3D ascii art is basically an extension of SIRDS, where you can create
    the illusion of depth on a flat surface. This is achieved by producing
    two slightly different versions of the one picture, and placing them
    a certain distance apart.
                .                 .   Focus Point
               / \
              /   \               x   Where the image appears
             /  x  \
           ---     ---            __  The original pictures on the screen
           /         \
          /           \           /\  Where your eyes are looking
         /             \
        O               O         OO  Your eyes
            PLAN VIEW
    Although the scale and angles are a bit off, the basic principle can
    be seen from the above diagram (seen looking down). The two versions
    of the picture are located on the screen, but you don't look there.
    You need to focus on a point *past* the screen which produces a third
    image at "x".
    This resulting image occurs because of the way eyes work. They can only
    focus on one "depth" at a time, and anything either further away or
    closer becomes blurred. These "blurs" are just two different views of
    the one object produced by the two eyes seeing different things.
    Try this: stand three feet from a wall. Now hold two fingers up about
    one foot from your face, and about 1.5 centimeters apart. Look between
    your fingers, and focus onto the wall. Keep focus on the wall, but
    look into the foreground at your fingers. You should see a ghost image
    from both fingers converging into the center. The trick is to make the
    two ghost images overlap each other resulting in (hopefully) one solid
    image. This image should appear at a different level than the originals:
                           |  |                |  |  |
                           |  |                |  |  |
                       TWO FINGERS         RESULTING IMAGE
    The results from this experiment won't be 100% perfect since your two
    fingers are likely to be different, but it is a good way to understand
    the concept. With a little practice, you should be able to focus on real
    3D pictures without too much effort.
       ---  ---   Note that if you cross your eyes instead of using the
         \  /     above technique, you actually see the picture in reverse.
          \/      This diagram shows the effect from above, and the resulting
          /\      image will appear where the lines cross over. Since most
         /  \     stereograms (STARE-eograms?) are created to go into the
        /    \    screen, looking at them this way will produce an incorrect
       O      O   vision (and is somewhat harder on the eyes).
    That's the hard part out of the way, now a bit about how to create them.
    Getting back to the little koala example (which is a perfect size for
    this type of work), lets bring him into 3 dimensions.
             X         X          Here I have placed two koalas 10 chars
            ___       ___         apart from each other. Generally, a good
          {~._.~}   {~._.~}       distance would be between 7 and 15 chars,
           ( Y )     ( Y )        although you can use any distance you like.
          ()~*~()   ()~*~()       Values outside those bounds tend to be
          (_)-(_)   (_)-(_)       difficult to focus on however.
    The distance determines how much the resulting image sits "into" the
    screen. If the distance is 0 (ie. no separation), the image is neutral
    which means it appears -at- the screen. As the distance is increased,
    the resulting image appears further -into- the screen.
    By having many koalas laid out across the screen (all separated by the
    same distance), the effect becomes slightly easier to focus on. Any
    extra layers should then be added across the whole picture, with the
    result being quite effective.
    The picture is quite boring so far, with just one layer of 3D being
    created, so the next thing to do is to add another layer or two.
    The "tried and tested" approach is to add a "pole" in front of him,
    and since we want it -in front- of the existing layer, each pole
    should be 9 chars apart:
     _        _        _        _        _        _        _        _
    (_)      (_)      (_)      (_)      (_)      (_)      (_)      (_)
     H___     H ___    H  ___   H   ___  H    ___ H     ___H      __H
    {H._.~}   H~._.~}  H{~._.~} H {~._.~}H  {~._.~H   {~._.H}   {~._H~}
     H Y )    H( Y )   H ( Y )  H  ( Y ) H   ( Y )H    ( Y H     ( YH)
    (H~*~()   H)~*~()  H()~*~() H ()~*~()H  ()~*~(H   ()~*~H)   ()~*H()
    (H)-(_)   H_)-(_)  H(_)-(_) H (_)-(_)H  (_)-(_H   (_)-(H)   (_)-H_)
     H        H        H        H        H        H        H        H
    ~"~~~~~~~~"~~~~~~~~"~~~~~~~~"~~~~~~~~"~~~~~~~~"~~~~~~~~"~~~~~~~~"~~
    Notice that since the pole is to appear in front of the koala, it
    actually replaces the koala where they overlap. Here's the same pic
    except the pole appears behind the koala:
          _          _          _          _          _          _
         (_)        (_)        (_)        (_)        (_)        (_)
      ___ H     ___  H    ___   H   ___    H  ___     H ___      H___
    {~._.~}   {~._.~}H  {~._.~} H {~._.~}  H{~._.~}   {~._.~}   {~._.~}
     ( Y )H    ( Y ) H   ( Y )  H  ( Y )   H ( Y )    H( Y )     ( Y )
    ()~*~()   ()~*~()H  ()~*~() H ()~*~()  H()~*~()   ()~*~()   ()~*~()
    (_)-(_)   (_)-(_)H  (_)-(_) H (_)-(_)  H(_)-(_)   (_)-(_)   (_)-(_)
          H          H          H          H          H          H
    ~~~~~~"~~~~~~~~~~"~~~~~~~~~~"~~~~~~~~~~"~~~~~~~~~~"~~~~~~~~~~"~~~~~

    Now, since the pole is to appear behind the koala, its chars do not
    write over the koala where they overlap. The poles here are 11 chars
    apart, so appear one "step" behind the koala. All layers are built like
    this, and of course I could have the poles both behind and in front of
    the koala in the same picture. Here's a multi-layer example:
          _               _
       .-~ \           .-~ \
      /     \  _      /     \ _
      ~x    .-~_)_    ~x   .-~_)_        This picture has 3 distinct layers:
        ~>x".-~ ~-. ~x".-~ ~-. the hat, head and face. There are
         ( /         \  ( /         \    many other examples of 3D ascii
          T  o  o     Y  T o  o      Y   around, plus there are programs
          l   <       !  l  <        !   available for the easy creation
           \  .__/   /    \  ._/    /    of SIRDS.
            "-.___.-'      "-.___.-'

    A quick examination of the above picture shows that the head (circle),
    part of the hat and a part of the mouth are all 15 characters apart.
    The rest of the face is just 14 chars apart, and the top section of
    the hat is 16 chars apart.

    Note that all this information is from pure observation, so it may not
    be 100% accurate.

						6. Conclusion

    Perhaps there's more to ascii art than
    meets the eye? Before writing this, I .
    had no idea just how much thought goes /\ /l
    into creating ascii pictures, and I ((.Y(!
    imagine that I haven't even begun to                \ |/
    cover it all.                                       /  6~6,
                                                        \ _    +-.
    Analyzing the work of other people is \`-=--^-'
    a great way to learn what works, and \ \
    what doesn't. Analyzing "art" may seem _/ \
    like a strange concept, but it does ( . Y
    open your awareness to the art form, and /"\ `--^--v--.
    it's a great way to learn the various              / _ `--"T~\/~\/
    techniques. I hope that you have found            / " ~\.  !
    my ideas about ascii interesting. _ Y Y./'
                                               Y^|   |      |~~7
    In the end however, it's up to the         | l   |     / ./'
    individual artist to work the way they     | `L  | Y .^/~T
    want to, and not necessarily the way       |  l  ! | |/| |   -Row
    someone else would do it. Finding          | .`\/' | Y | !
    your own style is all part of the fun, l "~ j l j_L______
    and perhaps this text will aid people \,____{ __"~ __ ,\_,\_
    in finding that style.                  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

September 2006 update:
From this portion I wrote about several months ago, it just doesn't seem as exicting anymore.. I mean, after wakeboarding all summer, now with a couple of jetskis to play with, this riverboarding thing just isn't quite the turn on it was when I wrote about it.

Riverboarding..

I've found a new activity online that looks like fun, "Riverboarding". It's not as exciting as wakeboarding or snowboarding, but a feasible activity seeing how it's a 2 minute walk from the river where I live. Here's a pic (from a web site, not me or anyone I know):
Riverboardingpic.jpg
As for the website and location of pic above, it's http://www.bansheeriverboards.com/

They show it with a skimboard, though I was thinking of perhaps a wakeskate instead if I could find one cheap. For the off season months and when not able to wakeboard, this seems like a fun way to practice balance and very simple stuff, especially given the convenient location where I live.

The way I found out about this little activity was when I was doing some online searching. From my years of growing up in California, I have an old boogie board that I was trying to figure out a use for, as there is no ocean within a reasonable distance when living here in the northwest. I thought of donning my drysuit, and taking a ride down the river face first on the old boogie board. Only thing about that is I'd have to figure a way to carry my cell phone on me to get picked up from a ride home. Sucks having do everything alone most of the time - I can't ever seem to find anyone(local) that shares my same sense of adventure. Now to see if I can find a bungee cord and do a makeshift setup. Since bills are a reality, I just don't have the money for everything. My fun, toys, etc is the result of hard work, saving up, bicycling instead of driving to save gas, not eating out and having a taste for top ramen, etc.

One more week:
One week from now I go to wakeboard camp! I am so mega stoked!!! After saving for a very long time for vacation, this is what I badly wanted to do. I expect it will be an awesome time.  Obviously as demonstrated by the river ideas above, I'm bored much of the time UNLESS I'm doing something with action and is fun. To me, the BORINGIST friggen type of people are those who want to sit around at a coffee house or whatever and do nothing. Sure, that sort of thing has its place--- like after a sweet day of play, but not as a primary activity.

. When I'm bored and not doing anything, I get flat out depressed and wish my life would end. Biking is okay and keeps me in shape. Trail riding on the dirt bike is fun but another thing I rarely have anyone to go with and trail riding deep into the woods really isn't the best idea sometimes. I spend the rest of the time bicycling; at the very least it saves a lot in gas money with the ongoing increasing pump prices. How's this for someone who needs a life(but the truth); I hate being bored so much that I would rather to go work than sit at home and do nothing!

So I've broken my share of bones, etc., but honestly, I'd rather be in several pieces than sit on my butt and never have tried. I think the same would be said of most other snowboarders here too though.
