Amped & ready for our 3rd season of operations, Backcountry Snowcats, is giving you a chance to win a piece of the action. Located on the Hurley Pass north of Pemberton and south of the snowmobiling hub of Bralorne, Backcountry Snowcats has more epic ski & snowboard terrain than we know what to do with, and is always scheming new ways to get you to the goods. Hence the creation of their unique new Private Big Mountain Experience package - guiding small groups of 3-4 riders, with safety training and mountaineering techniques in the mix. Using Snow Cat access, sleds & ski touring to cover more ground, you're looking at an epic weekend of money lines. It’s an experience unlike anything you’ll find at other cat boarding or heli operations, and Backcountry Snowcats is looking forward to hosting the first takers this season.

To launch the new package and wet your appetite for winter, our 'Find The Money Line' Contest could be your ticket to $1000 in Backcountry Snowcats credit this winter. First explore the 15,000 acres of powdery bowls, chutes and glades with the new interactive maps, then Enter to Win.
Not a bad deal eh?

Someone is going to score $1000 towards a trip at Backcountry Snowcats, and you can chose to apply it to the package that suites you best. It’s enough to cover a 2-Day weekend trip, with 2 nights at the Backcountry Snowcats Lodge, snowmobile or Snow Cat rides to and from Pemberton, 2 days cat skiing/riding, and hearty catered meals during your stay. Or bring some friends and put the prize bounty towards a Private Big Mountain Experience or Custom Trip.

Check out our new site, enter the contest, and with any luck you’ll be shredding at Backcountry Snowcats this winter.

PNW by Theory-3 Media and Poorboyz Productions & Distribution: PNW presented by Theory-3 Media and Poorboyz Productions & Distribution
By: Theory3Media

For immediate release:

PNW -

Turn Left, Turn Right, Exit Here, Entering, Welcome to...change the
song, pass the chips, are we there yet? From the creators of
[PHOTO]PLAY, we present to you…PNW... Through the creative vision of
Theory-3 Media, in association with Poorboyz Productions &
Distribution we bring to you a 2 Disc, 2 version, high-definition
skiing documentary covering the uncontrolled locations and the endless
possibilities held by the Pacific Northwest.

PNW will not be just your typical rider segmented film, but rather a
production documenting the travels and locations visited by focusing a
unique group of athletes and an entire season on endless areas of
Alaska, British Columbia, and Washington. The film's layout will be
broken up into segments covering the intricate highway systems, with
the joint travels of a few select athletes and crew linking the areas
of the PNW into a smooth flowing production. With lots of research,
and the impulsive choices of athletes and crew, we expect the body of
the film to be made up of random highway towns and certain specific,
but also unplanned backcountry sledding/touring locales. The skiing
within the film will cover all aspects of backcountry jumping, big
mountain skiing, urban/terrain park skiing, and the ideal combination
of all the above.

→NOTE: We will also include 1-2 additional segments within the PNW
documentary covering special event's, super park shoots, special trips
from outside of the Pacific North West. These segments will be tied
into the film with a PNW hook to be used as a recess between other
segments for issues with weather, athlete schedules, etc within the
Pacific North West.

In addition to the feature 'documentary', the PNW product will include
a 2nd DVD focusing on a re-edited, rider segmented film, with new
footage from outside of the PNW, and a slightly more 'typical' layout.
The riders will be giving his folder's worth of footage, and will
choose each specific shot for his ideal additional segment. It will
also include an athlete commentary covering who, what, when, where and
why, that rider chose those shots for his specific segment. We hope to
achieve two exciting films that can truly cover the dynamic that makes
up the sport of skiing, the Northwest and everything the riders, and
production crew put into their short run snow filled season.

The Life and Times of Joe: Friends
By: joe

Normally this time of year I'm all about Family. I think Christmas should be about family, this whole "shop more if you really love them" attitude has to go though, just spending time with the family can be nice (even if you can only do it for a short period of time). This year was no different, I got to go on a whirlwind tour though 3 cities in 4 days and visited a ton of family, and it was good to see them all again.

What really got me this year was my friends. I'm very lucky to have a group so awesome. From my roomates, to the people I see regularily, and those who are farther away and I don't see enough, they are all great. This year I was extremely surprised by a group of them who bought me a fantastic present, and it really makes me happy. I was really glad that a bunch of my friends were able to make it up for a New Years party that our house threw, there was the usual assortment of booze, champagne (gotta love sabreing the end off with a butterknife), kissing, hugging and lots of photos (I'll try and put a bunch up tonight). It was a ton of fun to hang out with everyone, so if you were there, thank you! And if you weren't I wish you had been!

I also just had a birthday as many of you noticed (holy crap I'm 28 now?!) and even though I worked for most of my birthday due to a broken server here in the office, a bunch of us got together and played some Xbox 360 on the projector here (nothing quite like a 100" screen) and I had a few extrememly stiff drinks (after a 34 hour shift, you might too) and then we went to dusty's for a few more beers. Let me tell you that a with no dinner and no sleep I get pretty drunk pretty easy. Good times! Now we might have to do it again tonight with some nachos at Merlins and some beers at Garfs.

An electronic theme will rule the ending party on Saturday 11 November with live acts, DJ’s and VJ’s.

To guarantee entry, athletes interested in competing—including World Tour IFSA pre-qualified athletes (see list below)—must register prior to the event and pay in full to be considered officially registered. A partial payment/deposit, will NOT secure you a spot. As always, entries are limited and events sell out within days, so we urge you to register early to avoid disappointment.

On the first morning of each event all athletes must check in at registration and sign waivers, purchase lift tickets, and receive bibs and start order. As a reminder, IFSA (International Freeskiers Association) memberships ARE REQUIRED for all athletes competing in the Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Tour and Freeskiing World Tour. Please go to www.freeskiers.org to sign up. We are working to add a link from usfreeskiing.com to register for membership.

Due to the popularity of the Snowbird and Kirkwood World Tour Qualifiers, the qualifier run has been extended to a two-day event, with each athlete still only getting one run to qualify. This will increase the amount of athletes who are given the chance to qualify for the World Tour event.

‘BIGGER AND BETTER’ COORS LIGHT TRAUMA TOUR RETURNS TO SYLVAN LAKE FEATURING WORLD-CLASS WAKEBOARDING AND TOP MUSICAL ACTS

The Coors Light Trauma Tour featuring the Pro Wake Invitational returns to Sylvan Lake, Alberta this summer, and with a new two-day format, it promises to be bigger and better! Ten of the world’s top professional wakeboarders will compete for $40,000 U.S. in prize money. And there will be non-stop concert performances from the hottest bands around – it’s all part of the Solo Mobile Concert Series.

The Solo Mobile Concert Series will be kicking off on Friday, September 1 with a performance by Bedouin Soundclash.

The trio from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario set the Canadian music scene on fire last year with their hit single “When the Night Feels My Song” which rose all the way to Number One on MuchMusic and was the second most played song on Canadian radio in 2005. De La Soul will headline the concert series the next night.

Also new for 2006, is a national and international television broadcast of the Coors Light Trauma Tour in Sylvan Lake. The event will be featured on the Xtreme Channel and Fusion TV as well as OLN in the United States.

Canadian pro wakeboarders Chad Sharpe and Rusty Malinoski will take on the best riders in the world including Andrew Adkison of the U.S., the Pro Wakeboard Tour’s number one ranked rider. The 10 pros will battle it out on the water in three wakeboarding disciplines – “Double Up”, “Rail Rumble” and “Full Pull” – with each discipline worth $10,000. An additional prize of $10,000 will also be awarded to the best rider overall.

As if the action on the water and the stage isn’t enough, fans can also look forward to the high-flying stunts of the Metal Mulisha Freestyle Motocross show and the battle of the beauties for the title of Miss Trauma Tour.

Tickets for the Coors Light Trauma Tour featuring the Pro Wake Invitational will go on sale July 15th and will be available by calling 1-866-891-WAKE or by visiting www.prowakeinvitational.com. Last year tickets sold out fast, so don’t wait too long to get yours!

Ski.Colonies.com News: Free Ski Open NZ 2006
By: ski.colonies.com

Hot on the heels of their recent success overseas, New Zealand’s free skiers will once again have the opportunity to take on the world’s best, this time on their own turf, when the international Free Ski Open NZ hits Lake Wanaka on 15-25 August 2006.

With top international names confirmed for both the big mountain and park disciplines of the event, the Free Ski Open NZ promises to provide spectators with a stunning showcase of this rapidly growing sport. European Free Ski Champion ‘05 Ted Davenport (USA) will join New Zealand’s own Hamish Acland, Tom Dunbar and Geoff Small (former three times North American champion) in the Motatapu Chutes at Treble Cone in the Volkl Big Mountain event (18 August). Dunbar who had a break through performance at the second stop of the IFSA World Tour placing 8th and being presented the “Sick Bird Award” said having competitors such as Davenport competing in New Zealand makes for world class competition, which is just what Kiwi skiers are after. In the park disciplines of the K2 Halfpipe (15 August) and Slopestyle (16 August) at Snow Park, the calibre of athletes is equally impressive. Frenchman, Loic Collomb-Patton returns to defend his crown in both disciplines. Currently ranked number two in the world for halfpipe, and just missing out on a medal slot in the X Games and World Superpipe Championships, Collumb-Patton will be keeping a close eye on rising Kiwi star, Jossi Wells of Wanaka.Wells who came second only to X-Games champion, Charles Gagnier in last year’s Rail Jam event will be looking to continue his current form after a remarkably successful Northern Hemisphere season that earned him the respect of many of the top pro riders and industry insiders. What is set to be a trans-Tasman rivalry will be the match up of Jossi Wells and young Australian skier Russ Henshaw, himself taking third in the slopestyle in last year’s Open, His form continued to Europe winning the Verbier Ride and Austrian Open slopestyle events, packing a switch 1080 he will be gunning for more podiums. In addition to the on-mountain events, the Free Ski Open NZ also features several downtown events including a Ski Movie Extravaganza at Cinema Paradiso (23 August) and Invitational BASE Downtown Rail Jam (25 August)

In the spirit of self-expression, creativity and sharing, the Panasonic "Share the Air" Video Contest welcomes participation from amateur filmmakers and industry professionals alike.

On May 17th, Panasonic challenged filmmakers to show what “Share the Air” means to them in the form of a 24-second action sports film.  Submitted videos will be reviewed and evaluated by Panasonic and renowned

>action sports filmmakers Ty Evans and Aaron Meza. Two Grand Prize Winners will each win a Panasonic HD video package worth over $16,000, including the new state-of-the-art AG-HVX200 High Definition camcorder, and $5,000 cash.  Winning submissions will also be considered for national broadcast as Panasonic television commercials.  In addition, four First Prize Winners will each win a video prize package worth over $1,000.

About the Prize:
The AG-HVX200 HD Camera-Recorder Puts a Host of Powerful Features in Your Hands
This handheld DVCPRO HD P2 camera-recorder is designed to meet emerging needs in HD content production. It debuts as Panasonic's first HD video product to use P2, the cutting-edge memory recording device that has the potential to revolutionize the entire production paradigm. The AG-HVX200 records HD, either 1080i or 720p video acquired by a new optical system and high-performance digital signal processor onto a P2 card using the broadcasting DVCPRO HD codec. This system achieves a level of image quality that conventional handheld HD cameras simply cannot match, while also supporting HD/SD multi-format and multi-codec recording capabilities. Variable frame rate recording is just one of the features that makes the AG-HVX200 unique in its class. Using technologies that make the Panasonic VariCam camera-recorder a favorite in movie production, this powerful function allows the overcranking and undercranking techniques used with film cameras to create fast-motion and slow-motion effects. The P2 card offers superior reliability, immediate playback and outstanding cost-performance. It allows direct connection to nonlinear editing systems and streamlines the production work flow, by providing to the editing system data files ready to be edited, rather than a video tape which would require the task of digitizing. On top of all its advanced features and technologies, the AG-HVX200 inherits the refined design and easy operation that distinguishes Panasonic's high-value DVX100 DV camera series. In the AG-HVX200, video professionals of all kinds will find a powerful tool for giving form to their creative visions.

well, i finally get time off work!  for those of you in the forums or on msn chating with me, you know that i am online a lot... and you'd probably also know that i don't even own a computer... therefore, when i'm on-line, i'm at work.  in other words........ i work a lot. (or more to the point, i'm AT work a lot)

but this weekend?.. nope.  i'm done at 3pm on thursday and don't have to come back in till monday morning.  since i usually work saturdays as well as weekdays.. this is a big break for me... i love it.  so whats the plan you might ask?... and if you don't ask... f*ck you i'm telling you anyways!

tonight is a poker tournament in which i plan on winning lots of money, until that point where i realize i am extremely drunk and everyone else who has to work tomorrow morning is still sober.. at that point, calling all in on a 2-7 off suit will seem like a great idea.  after that, i will probably curl up into a ball under the table and pass out.
IMG_0332.JPG

tomorrow i have a round of golf scheduled... its at the course where last time i played, the ranger said i looked like a big ******.  well.. that was real nice of him.. so i plan on dressing even more gay this time.  just to see what he says.. maybe i'll ask him on a date.  god i'm glad i'm comfortable enough with my masculinity... because hey.. i'm NOT gay... but my boyfriend is a flaming homo.
golf1.jpg

after that, its off the barrie to drink more and act like an idiot... i don't want to get too wasted because i have to get up the next morning and go to a wedding... now this should be a classy wedding.. the bride has asked me to wear a tuxedo t-shirt... she is serving hot dogs and hamburgers... and we are staying in tents.  all class!  should be one big gong show. i'll try to let you know how that goes.. i think i'd better bring my camera.... plus, i was just talking with the bride to be and she is thinking the whole wedding might be a mistake!  uh oh... a little late for that!  she says she still loves him though, so hey... thats like the third best reason to get married.... besides money and pregnancy of course.
bride.jpg

sunday.. yet another golf game, so i'll see what kind of outfit i can wrangle up for that one.. as i say... i'll have my camera, so i'll take some pics... hope all you sluts and a**holes have yourself a great weekend!  at least you won't have to put up with me for a few days!  peas and carrots!
