Well this is for those out in the world that either missed the event, watched the wrong channel or those that just didn't have time to watch the men's and woman's Olympic halfpipe in Torino. Here are the basics of what you missed.

An Italian that goes by the name Roberto Moresi has spent the last 3 years building this pipe. It was built an extra 20m long making the pipe a total of 150m long. This allowed riders 5 hits instead of 4. Out of the 44 competitors, only 12 get to advance to the finals. So how it works is the 44 riders go, the top 6 get to advance to the finals. Then the rest get a second run and the top 6 from the second heat enter into the finals for a total of 12 riders.

Shaun White had a bit of a rocky start placing 7th after the first round, as well as Anti Autti who everyone claimed would be Shauns number 1 competitor seemed to be riding conservative.

In the end, Shaun took home gold, followed by US team mate Danny Kass for his second Olympic silver medal and Markku Koski took home bronze.

10] Risto Mattila
11] Crispin Lipscomb
12] Andy Finch

As for the woman's halfpipe, Kelly Clark had an amazing day till she tried her front 9 on her last hit and went down. Hannah Tetter pulled some huge big airs as well a smooth 900. Kjersti stomped a cripppler 7 off her last hit and Gretchen's final run was a crippler followed by back to back 5's and a 900 as her final hit.

At the end of the day, the results showed that Team USA came shy of one medal to make a clean sweap.

At the Vans Cup this weekend. Was pretty sick. Men's pipe: Danny Kass is the best. He kills it. Shawn white falls 3 out of 3 runs, impossible!
Women's pipe was impressive. Kjersti Buaas is my favourite pipe jock with her huuuuuge air to fakies.
Women's slopesteeze: judges effed up on the scores, so it was wierd but Anne Flore should have won because she rode like a champ. kills it!

tomorrow I am heading to Iceland for a transworld story trip for 2 whole weeks! I hope the conditions are good there.
